Design your Lunar System
Save money, make money, avoid grid outages, and power your life with clean energy day and night.

Perched above the Pacific Ocean just south of San Francisco, Shiraz has sweeping views of the coastline that remind him daily of what’s worth protecting. “Every day I look out at the ocean and hills and it grounds me,” he said. “Clean energy feels like one of the ways I can do my part to protect this.”
In his profession, Shiraz leads engineering teams that design secure systems. His career has been about building infrastructure people can trust.
“I know the value of securing the most important things, whether it’s data at work or power at home. Both need to be protected,” he said.
That mindset is what drew him to Lunar Energy since their products are designed as a system built not just to keep the lights on, but to secure his home’s energy future.
For years, Shiraz circled the idea of solar. He read articles, searched for the next generation solar battery, and came across Lunar Energy through his research. But remodels on his home kept taking priority, until recently.
When he finally made the leap, it wasn’t because of a single product, it was because Lunar felt like the start of something bigger.
“I was never interested in Tesla — I drive a Rivian, and am not interested in Tesla’s political side projects. Lunar’s focus is on innovation and I’m aligned with their purpose.” he explained.
“What excites me about Lunar is that they are designing a full energy platform. It’s not just a battery bolted on the wall, it’s the start of electrifying everything: solar, EV charging, heating, even cooking.”
Within just two days of installation, his home was up and running on solar and the Lunar System. After four years of thinking about it, the speed of the transition stunned him.
“I considered solar for four years, and then it was all done in two days. I couldn’t believe it,” said Shiraz.
Part of what made Lunar stand out was how much care had gone into its design. Shiraz wanted something that worked well, but he also wanted something he could be proud to live with.
“Lunar doesn’t just feel functional, it feels intentional,” he said. “The battery looks like something Apple would design, and the app matches it. That matters when you’re asking people to live with this technology every day for more than a decade. It’s not just powerful, it’s beautiful and grows with my needs.”
As someone used to evaluating systems for scalability and usability, he found Lunar’s approach reassuring. The product looked good on his wall, but it also delivered a digital experience that lived up to the promise.
Even the best technology needs the right partner to bring it into the home. For Shiraz, the installation crew made the process seamless.
“They had clearly done this before,” he said. “They explained what was happening step by step, answered all my questions, and kept everything clean and organized. Even when the power had to be shut off, they gave me plenty of notice. It was thoughtful, professional, and efficient.”
After years of waiting and researching, Shiraz realized the only hard part was the decision to start. Once he did, the installation was quick, straightforward, and surprisingly easy.
Once the system was live, Shiraz quickly found himself checking the app constantly. “I wake up in the middle of the night and check it first thing in the morning. I’m so invested in the production and usage of my solar energy” he laughed.
His background in engineering and security makes him a tough critic of software, but the Lunar app impressed him. “It’s intuitive and responsive. I can tell it’s been built with real attention to detail,” he said.
“I don’t want to be a PG&E expert, I want the software to be the pro. That’s the real value: give me visibility and control, without the headache.”
As Shiraz spends more time with his system, he’s already adjusting how he runs his home. He’s experimenting with running appliances during the day, thinking about the timing of EV charging, and just having more fun with how he runs his home since he now has control.
“I like new technology, but more importantly I like technology that feels like it’s built for the future,” he said. “Lunar is thinking beyond a single product. They’re designing an ecosystem. That’s what excites me because I know my house will eventually run on clean electricity end-to-end, and Lunar is setting me up for that journey.”

Lunar isn’t just a one-off product. It’s a platform, beautifully designed hardware paired with intelligent software that grows with your home as you electrify everything from EVs to heating and cooking.
No. The Lunar app makes it easy to set a reserve so backup power is always available. Even while charging an EV overnight, Shiraz keeps a 25% reserve for outage protection.
The app shows real-time solar, battery, and home energy use. Lunar AI mode automates decisions optimizing for weather, rates, and habits so you get the most out of your system with less effort.
